Amanda Gorman: qualcuno che potrebbe davvero cambiare il mondo

Everyone has surely heard talking about the stunning poem “The Hill We Climb” and its brilliant authoress: Amanda Gorman.
She is a poetess, an activist, a feminist but mainly she’s part of the black community, that part of the world population that still needs to fight against dumb discrimination due to the color of skin and the ignorance of racists.
She’s actually well-known because of the great speech she made as the youngest guest ever invited to the “Presidential Inauguration Ceremony”, an event at which she hopes to take part one day as the “main character”.
No clouds on her horizon thanks to her ability to always find the brightest side.
Amanda has shocked the whole world with her skills, breaking down the barriers of ignorance, pointing out that we are all facing the same monster: Covid-19.
The pandemic is, from her maybe utopic point of view, something that should make us feel closer, similar.
It is in the “Miracle of Morning”, a less known poem, that she expresses this kind of wide-eyed perspective, full of the hopes for the better world she would create.
After reading this brief piece someone should think about her as a naive, a dreamer unable to lead a nation one day. Such a mistake! She is a strong young woman, a rising star who should give the society that values missing.

“Anche se ci sentissimo piccoli, separati e soli, la nostra gente non è mai stata così strettamente legata. È una poetessa, un’attivista, una femminista ma soprattutto fa parte della comunità nera, quella parte della popolazione mondiale che deve ancora lottare contro la discriminazione muta a causa del colore della pelle e dell’ignoranza dei razzisti. In realtà è ben nota per il grande discorso che ha fatto come la più giovane ospite mai invitata alla “Cerimonia di inaugurazione presidenziale”, un evento a cui spera di prendere parte un giorno come “protagonista”. Nessuna nuvola all’orizzonte grazie alla sua capacità di trovare sempre il lato più luminoso. Amanda ha scioccato il mondo intero con le sue abilità, abbattendo le barriere dell’ignoranza, sottolineando che siamo tutti di fronte allo stesso mostro: Covid-19. La pandemia è, dal suo punto di vista forse utopico, qualcosa che dovrebbe farci sentire più vicini, simili. È nel “Miracolo del mattino”, una poesia meno conosciuta, che esprime questo tipo di prospettiva con gli occhi spalancati, piena di speranze per il mondo migliore che avrebbe creato. Dopo aver letto questo breve pezzo qualcuno dovrebbe pensare a lei come un’ingenua, una sognatrice incapace di guidare una nazione un giorno. Un tale errore! È una giovane donna forte, una stella nascente che dovrebbe dare alla società quei valori mancanti. Amanda Gorman è quella che potrebbe davvero cambiare il mondo!”
